Bells Only Alarm
A bells only alarm is the simplest system that can be installed. An alarm is triggered when one of the alarm sensors is activated causing both an internal and an external alarm to sound. The police are not obliged to attend a property where a bells only alarm is installed unless they can confirm that a burglary is in progress.
Monitored Alarm System
A monitored alarm system is connected to a remote monitoring station via a telephone line. In the event of an alarm being triggered the monitoring station will inform the police who will then attend your property. It is a requirement of a monitored system to have a service contract for your alarm. The service contract guaranties a high degree of reliability and minimises the number of false alarms.
BT RedCare provides an additional level of security to a monitored alarm system. The RedCare system constantly monitors the telephone line that connects the alarm to the monitoring station and if the telephone line is cut, or fails for some other reason automatically triggers an alarm.
